The SEBRAE System - Brazilian Service to Support Micro and Small Enterprises - is a private entity with public-interest that intends to stimulate the entrepreneurial spirit and promote competitiveness and self-sustainable development of small businesses.

The history of SEBRAE in Rio Grande do Sul started in 1972. 40 years ago, the Brazilian Service to Support Micro and Small Enterprise in Rio Grande do Sul (Sebrae / RS) was instituted as an private associative entity, non-profit, in the form of autonomous social service. [1]

The Technical School Liberato Salzano Vieira da Cunha has a structure aimed to professional education in technical level of with 3,504 students enrolled, from more than 50 cities in Rio Grande do Sul.

Started its activities in 1967 with the Technical Course of Chemistry, and currently offers technical courses in: Interior Design, Mechanical, Electronic, Electrical, Chemistry, Safety, Automotive Maintenance, Informatics to Internet and Technical Expertise.

Present in the business of basic construction materials (cement, concrete, aggregates and complementary products) since 1936, Votorantim Cements is currently one of the eight largest companies in the global industry, with a strong presence in the Americas, Europe, Asia and Africa, standing by the operational excellence and management practices. In Brazil, holds the market leadership with 40% of share.

Souza Cruz

Souza Cruz is leader of the domestic market. The company has six of the ten best selling brands in Brazil, producing about 80 billion cigarettes per year. In the first half of 2012, the participation of Souza Cruz was 60.1% of the Brazilian total market.

Operating across the product lifecycle, from production and processing of tobacco to manufacturing and distribution of cigarettes, Souza Cruz directly serves about 300,000 retails across the country, beyond the reach of nearly five thousand cities.



Founded in 1977, Samarco is a Brazilian mining company, privately held, controlled in equal parts by two shareholders: BHP Billiton Brazil Ltda. and Vale SA. Its main product are iron ore pellets produced from the transformation of low content minerals in a noble product, with high added value, and marketed to the global steel industry. It is essentially an exporting company and, in 2013, sold its production to 20 countries in the Americas, Asia, Africa, Europe and Middle East companies.

With the inauguration of the Fourth Pellet Plant in the first half of 2014, the nominal production capacity increased from 22.25 million to 30.5 million tons per year, generating more than 2900 direct jobs and 3500 indirect jobs.



World leader in producing of eucalyptus pulp, Fibria has a production capacity of 5.3 million tons of pulp annually, with factories located in Três Lagoas (MS), Aracruz (ES), Jacarei (SP) and Eunápolis (BA), where keeps Veracel in a joint venture with Stora Enso. In partnership with CENIBRA, operates the only Brazilian port specializing in pulp shipment, Portocel (Aracruz, ES). [1]



AGDI is a Rio Grande do Sul Government Agency responsible to the Industrial Policy execution.
