Description: Micro and small enterprises have significant participation in the generation of employment and income in the Brazilian economy. In this context, also are included micro-enterpreneurs. These organizations have suffered with the growth of competitiveness based on factors ranging importation of products to internal management problems. This last aspect motivated SEBRAE to redesign the Business to Business Project. In this sense, this project will critically evaluate the Business to Business Project, aiming to support a set of actions of SEBRAE that qualify the management of Micro and Small Enterprises (ME) and Micro-entrepreneurs. Theoretically, concepts of Business Ecosystems, supported by the Business Process Engineering and the Organizational Design. In methodological terms, we will use the Design Science and Design Science Research with the paradigm and research method for the construction and evaluation of the artifacts required for the project. Among the main deliverables of the research project can be listed:

  • Modeling of the roles, responsibilities and skills required for managing the Business Platform Project; 
  • Method for implementing the Business Platform Project of SEBRAE/RS. For this, will be developed the processes modeling that make up the Value Added Chain (VAC), in ARIS notation (Architecture of Integrated Information Systems) as well as the details on activity level in processes with the use of EPCs (Event Driven Process Chain); 
  • Development of documents and forms that will be required for execution of the activities planned for the Business Platform Project; 
  • Development of a management diagnostic based from the Incremental Diagnostic of SEBRAE (Q2) to guide the indication of tools to companies; 
  • Development of a Tool book with focus on five main themes: Finances; Planning; Market; Organization; Human Resources; 
  • Execution of a pre-test in five (5) companies in the metropolitan area of Porto Alegre; 
  • Elaboration of Project Manual that will show the processes logic; 
  • Elaboration of Agent Manual, guiding the method execution;
  • Capacitation for both internal staff of SEBRAE as for the set of Executive Universities of the State of Rio Grande do Sul.

Title: Capacitation in Single Minute Exchange of Die (SMED) aiming at reduction of setup time from a Systemic perspective.

Knowledge Areas: Lean Manufacturing, Systems Thinking.

Situation: Project Completed. 

Description: This training introduced to participants the method used to apply the Single Minute Exchange of Die - SMED, aligned to the concepts of Lean Manufacturing.

To structure of this training, studies were made on the mix of manufactured products in the mortar plant, the growth trends of the variety, as well as a series of four technical visits to  the plant.

The first technical visit visualized the production process of the plant and the factors which impact the setup.

At the second meeting was presented an early version of the content that would be shown in the training.

In the third encounter were identified variables related to setup and developed the first version of the Systemic Structure of the relations between the factors that influence the time and frequency of setup and the impacts of this.

In the fourth meeting was made the refinement of the Systemic Structure and the variables were passed to the collection of time series of behavior patterns.

Finally, the capacitation were realized with participants selected by the company and provided a new meeting to answer questions on the topic.

Title: Engineering as a path? Audiovisual stimuli to enter and complete the Production Engineering Course

Situation: Completed

Description: Due to the growth of the economy, there is an increasing need for qualified professionals, and still a shortage of engineers. However, some actions should be undertaken to increase the number of professionals in this area and hence meet this demand. It has been observed some facts proving this point, such as the high amount of avoidance of higher education in engineering, which is due to lag of basic education, the immaturity of the students, the hasty choice of course, lack of perspective, among others. Therefore, this project aims to provide an insight into the relevance of the course of Production Engineering, so that the decision to be assertive, increasing the knowledge about the course, providing benefits after training and minimize the difficulties to be overcome during the course.

This proposal lies with both the high school students of the Public Institution Co-executor Project Foundation School Liberato Salzano Vieira Technical da Cunha, as the students entering higher education institution of Project Execution (IES) Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos UNISINOS . Short videos (drops) with graduates of both institutions will be produced in order to provide a connection between high school and higher education. Furthermore, interviews with teachers of Production Engineering UNISINOS will be made. The objective will be making this material available on YouTube, in a blog and as well as suggestions for use in an Introduction to Production Engineering.
